Unintentional Vegetarian

I eat meat.  I love meat.  I eat read meat, normally quite raw.  (Obviously that's been out lately).

Except now I don't.

Pretty much since I've been pregnant, I can't eat meat.  I seem to do okay with Chicken and I've been eating fish, but looking over my food diaries (I document everything when I'm pregnant, not that it's really helped me in the past...) I haven't eaten hardly any red meat. I thought it might be a fluke.

Tonight, my husband made steak.  I could smell it cooking while I was finishing my work upstairs.  I tried to like the smell.  When I went down stairs to eat, I tried to like the meat.  I took small bites, washing them down with huge gulps of milk.  Eventually I gave up and smothered each bite in ketchup.  I swear, it was like watching a toddler eat dinner.  Eventually I gave up.

Maybe baby is a vegetarian?  Either way, I guess I'll stick to cottage cheese, tofu, and fish for my protein for a while.

  1. My best friend couldn't eat meat for a while while pregnant. Eventually it came back. I hope you are able to enjoy the things you like soon.
